The 8th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Tuesday 30th April 1816 over the Rowley Mile course, was Nectar (5/2 fav), a bay colt by Walton out of Lhuile De Venus, owned by Lord George Cavendish. A field of 12 runners contested the race which was worth 2700 Guineas (Equivalent to £232,800 in 2017)
